What You'll Learn

The Certified Legacy Organizer™ program is built around four modules — a progression from foundational understanding to client-ready skill to business application. Each one builds toward the same goal: giving you the framework, language, and confidence to add legacy organizing as a trusted specialty.

Module 1: Foundations

Before you can guide clients through legacy organizing, you need a clear picture of what it is — and just as importantly, what it isn't. This module lays the groundwork: the philosophy behind the work, where it fits alongside your existing services, and how to think about your role as a Certified Legacy Organizer.

Module 2: The What & The Why

This is the heart of the certification — a deep dive into the 12 core areas of a person's life that legacy organizing addresses. You'll learn what belongs in each category, why it matters, and how to help clients think through it clearly.

Areas covered include things like legal documents, digital assets, financial accounts — and more, spanning everything from medical information to the personal items people want handled with care.

By the end of this module, you'll be able to speak confidently and specifically about every category a client might need help with.

Module 3: Client Considerations

Knowing the content is one thing — knowing how to work with real people is another. This module focuses on the client relationship: how to introduce this service, how to hold space for sensitive conversations, and how to meet each client where they are, whether they want a paper-based system, a digital vault, or something in between.

Module 4: Success Tips

The final module turns knowledge into practice. You'll learn how to structure this offering within your existing business, position it to current and prospective clients, and set yourself up for long-term success as a Certified Legacy Organizer.
